REFLECT/JANUARY.

Reflect-January-1.jpeg

Hey There,

How was your January? Just wondering Now that This month is closing up shop pretty quick. Today in fact:) or its over if your reading this few days late. No worries:)

In my neck of the woods it’s been quite a whirlwind of schedule juggling and overall mixed feelings for the beginning of this new year and the best decade ever:) So,now it’s nice to finally sit down, take a deep breath and REFLECT over some good coffee.

lAST mONTHS wINS

My first Post of the year HERE, I outlined three Categories I wanted to work on. My number one was Blogging 9 posts per month and I hit it with no time to spare. But, still Woo Hoo win fore sure💥.

I did cheat a little by featuring THIS POST from last September that I really loved. A good reminder that part of my blogging goal was also about getting back to sharing good stuff on social media again. As uncomfortable as it might be right now. It’s a muscle I need to work towards.

Blog posting this month did have a few hiccups…Time was the main culprit. Currently I work two jobs and flip-flop from my Boyfriend and I’s separate Apartments.. So, most of the time I felt like I was stealing time to blog. It’s not ideal, but when you love something so much you make it work and get it done somehow like currently editing and adding to this post as I’m in the car before work.

TO THINK ON

When it comes to my Blogging goal, I really want to fine tune my social media sharing and presence again. Find a formula like my blogging that works.

I recently came across a AWESOME INTERVIEW with Gram Girl Extraordinaire JENNA KUTCHER that really lit me up. Sharing some lovely insight on how to be more intentional and time sharing (not that Florida Time Share you regret buying into kind of thing 😜) on IG.

STILL IN PROGRESS

HOME- A 30 DAY YOGA JOURNEY with all my blogging going on and my crazy schedule this honestly took a back seat. But, like a kid buckled in the back asking over and over again, “Are we there yet?”

Yes, I’m getting there. I WILL finish:) and on my own pace and timeframe:) I will for sure keep you updated on my progress.

tO WORK ON

Showing my face more on the Gram and proof that there’s a human behind the content I’m creating😊. I also want to delve more into Insta-Stories. As much as they fascinate me, they terrify me in the same breath😩.Words come so easily to me, but being on video doesn’t. Anyone relate?

TO LET GO OF

Facebook for StoryboardC. I started out this month with the intention to share my blog posts again on FB. I’ll be honest it didn’t feel right, it actually never does 😂. Facebook for sure isn’t my social media platform jam even though I get more readership on there. It just overwhelms me and I’m not crazy about engaging on there. So, it’s a nice reminder to focus on what feels good vs. what might be seem “right”.

I’m also letting go of the Resume thing for the time being. This month I’m actually liking my job now. The holiday season was a rough time, but I’m truly loving my co-workers and management.

TO COMPLETE

I actually am doing it right now 😊. And the things that didn’t get done. It’s ok. That’s what February is for 😊♥️.

Thanks for joining along with me on StoryboardC. this January.

Love, C.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Big Dreams, Daily Joy’s Author, Elise has always seemed like a Natural Doer to me over the many years of following her blog and IG. I’ve so admired her creativity, consistency and thorough planning skills. Heck, She even has a Planner she created based on her principles of planning and I LOVE using it.

But, what makes her Stand out most to me- She Really Really Gets Things Done. Not half-ass. Projects after Projects, even if she doesn’t finish (which seems rare). She always starts DOING Again and Again with great Gusto and Learning Curves. That is why I was so excited to read her book, Big Dreams, Daily Joys.

In early December for my own Birthday Gift 😉 while re-ordering a new Get To Work Book Planner. I also picked up a signed copy her book and It’s so Good. Way Goal Getting Good 😊. Great for Natural Doer’s and Learned Doers like myself.

I am a definitely a Learned Doer. It doesn’t come natural to me, but over the years I’ve had to make it a priority and most of all be honest with my limitations. I’m easily distracted and overwhelmed. If I don’t actively pursue lists, planners and goals, I just don’t get things done. Period. Then I’ll find myself full of regret and disappointment, and having flashbacks from childhood report cards saying, “If Cindy applied herself more, she could be a great student.”

Now Adult Cindy knows better and seeks out all information on getting things done as much as she can. Yes, I still struggle with applying myself at times, but I approach it now it not with dread, but a cultivated joy for the challenge of Goal Setting.

Big Dreams, Daily Joy’s is definitely in my Goal Motivation arsenal for 2020. My biggest Take-away from this lovely book has been the reminder to Prioritize. Just like my Momma taught me while cleaning my room as a kid 😊.

Mapping out what Needs to get Done vs. going with my sometimes chaotic flow of messy lists to Breaking down to-do’s into manageable Prioritized Steps.

For example: Things I Want to do compared to Things I Need to Get Done. I love writing blog posts, but I hate making Dr. Appt’s. Can you relate?!?!

Now I’m approaching Goals and To-Do’s with a more Big picture attitude. Yes, a blog post is a creative priority, but a Dr. Appt is a non-negotiable Priority.

I’m so grateful for Elise’s unique perspective and literary nudge to be more intentional about my life planning and the effect it has on my daily joys by checking off the mundane so I have time to enjoy the other creative stuff.

If you too are in need of priotizing reboot or just a boot up with Goal Setting. This book has the tools to Go Get It Done and the graphics are charming. Hence my need to buy the matching coffee mug I shared HERE.

I highly recommend getting your own copy HERE and follow Elise’s Personal and Get To Work Book IG feed for so many practical ideas in planning and Action.

Now your turn to join the story below in the comments. I would love to hear if you consider yourself a Natural Doer or Learned one?

LET’S GO.

Let’s Go!

Like my new favorite happy coffee mug that fuels my writing sessions in the morning. I’m ready to Get Going on my Goals for 2020. I’m Naming and Claiming them Big Time. Putting them out there for everyone to see, but most importantly ME.

I decided to choose 3 Goal Categories this year and breaking them down monthly into 1 doable Bite-Sized Step. I will be sharing it through the year at the end of each month in a Reflect/Review Post via my Planner Get To Work Book on my Wins, Still in Progess and What I need to Let Go of. *If your interested in more ideas like this check out the Get To Work Book IG Feed. It’s awesome!

Here goes:

Happiest Health.

First up for January, I’m starting this year off with some Yoga W/ Adriene. Last January I discovered her 30 day yoga journey and it was transforming to say the least. So, I’m Cracking it open with another try this year. PS I would love for you to Join with me HERE.

So, in 2020 I can Go Beyond the Scale, Feel better in My Home Body by Feeding it with good things, hydrating it better and connecting my body-mind-spirit in more sweet, gentle ways month by month.

Create.

I’m a Writer. I create content. It’s what wakes me up in the morning. It excites me. I just love the process of uncovering the archives of interests in my head and pressing the publish button. I believe it’s what I’m born to do ♥️. Bold Statement, Yes. But, I’m claiming it!

So, This year I’m making it a Priority and focusing on 9 posts a month. 9x12=108. I created a grid to check off each post for the year. Done is way more Fun 😊 and My only rules for the year is to show up and be my myself.

Thrive, Not Just Survive.

”It’s not enough to just survive something right? That’s not the point of life. You’ve got to Thrive, you’ve got to feel Happy.”

-Duchess of Sussex

When I first heard the Duchess in all her powerful vulnerability share this insight in the Documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey. I knew this would be a part of my own journey going forward.

To give myself permission to go beyond the survival mode that I have been living in since my Open Heart Surgery back in 2017. Enjoying the fruits of my Body Thriving now and now allowing it to spill over into all aspects of my life.

Namely aligning my Work with my Passions more and not settling for the unhappy daily grind that it currently is.

This months Goal is working on a Resume that combines all my experience including my creative pursuits and accomplishments.

I know Life is full of Hiccups and Surprises, but One thing I have learned over the Last few years is to Focus on the Things that I do have control of and Be Creative in problem solving the limitations that do come my way.

OK now it’s your turn… Leave a comment below with your Goals for the New Year and your plans for Getting It Done?
