THINGS WE LOVE.

Oh, I ♥️ Books & Hey it’s been no secret over the years over here on StoryboardC. Man, if only I had the time and $$$ resources to feature a book daily I would. Ok that might be a little excessive 😜. I do need new glasses as it is.

But, for now in this month of Love. I’d thought I’d share one of my all-time loveliest re-reads and inspiration conjuring up coffee table books. *Which actually has its home of honor by my bedside:)

THINGS WE LOVE

Kate Spade ♠️ New York’s, Things We Love (2013) is a whimsical celebration of the Brands 20 year anniversary of design, inspiration and oh so charming objects of affection.

I have been a fan of the Kate Spade Brand (not so much anymore since their acquisition byTapestry) since the1990’s Loving the now Late, but eternally Great Founder Kate and her husband Andy Spade’s eye for nostalgic, playful and their trademark twist of classic design. Who didn’t have the original Black Boxy Nylon Bag?!? Or in my case a great desire for one:)

Kate Spade also holds a very special place in my heart for inspiring me in adulthood to become a STORYTELLER again. If you look back to my early days of Blogging my references to Kate Spade are numerous. Especially for her ad campaigns and even planners 😊.

But, my true favorite was her own blog, Behind The Curtain. where they’re was also a Hidden Feature called Things We Love. A wonderful menagerie of unique books, music and artists. It was so awesome and I was so sad to see it go. But, there was also a pocket book version I have somewhere… but it just wasn’t enough😜.

So, then after Kate stepped down in 2007. Her Successor Deborah Lloyd released in 2013 full length companion piece book. Brimming page to page with so much colorful whimsy that Kate herself inspired and lovely new editions that didn’t disappoint.

The book is seriously magical. Full of so many ideas and loves. Just like the book jacket showcases from the color red, black/white stripes and even typewriters ♥️.

I still reference this book seasonally after all these years, Losing hours in design heaven. It’s definitely in my all time book hall of fame 😊 and even has become a little tradition to jump start my creativity even as I’m writing this post.

So, now it’s your turn to join the story… I would ♥️ to know what books inspire your creativity? Old and New?

Love, C.
